I had a motorized wireless car charger mount before. When I would shut off my car, the power would shut off to it and I would have to click the car key forward in order to energize the USB port in order for it to open. This one, however, has a battery in it! So you don't have to worry about opening it right before you shut off the car...and that is amazing! The instructions say that it has all sorts of safety features like if the car gets too hot or your phone gets too hot or the charger gets too hot it will shut off so it doesn't damage anything, which is nice because sometimes in the summertime, car interiors can get hot. The mounting suction cup is probably 20% larger than ones I've used in the past, which is fantastic. The case on my phone must be made out of stealth material, because at night the infrared sensor doesn't quite pick up when I am nearing my phone to the phone holder. That's not really a complaint, though, Because I can always just press my finger to the 'open sensor.' My true complaint is that I had to wrap two layers of Scotch tape on the ball of the mount because I tightened it all the way and it still wiggled around quite a bit. I've only had it for a week and it works pretty well. Let's see if it lasts for the 3 years my other one did... My guess is it will. If it does, I will buy it again. EDIT: so yeah, the ball is too small. It won't hold the phone stand correctly. The plastic nut on the back stops turning and the phone stand still wiggles around. It's almost tight enough, but you stick your phone in it and it just droops down. I'm a little disappointed. The Scotch tape method did not work. Maybe someone has a better idea.
