Dash camera

I am still getting use to it. The microphone picks up every little sounds and that is good. Installing was a pain but we got it. I feel the price could have been a little cheaper, but all in all it is a good product

Amazing dash cam!

Recently purchased the red tiger F77. Installing the front camera was very easy but I had an issue with the rear camera because I have a Toyota 4Runner and the rear window is a Power window. I contacted customer service for suggestions and they answered the next day. Emma was great! She offered some suggestions and immediately mailed me an extended cable for the rear camera since I have a long SUV. She also sent me a hardwire kit. Both items were sent absolutely free! I was able to adapt one of her suggestions and got my rear camera installed and working great. I used 3M Command strips to mount the camera to the lower window frame. I included pics in case anyone else has this issue. As for the cameras, they work GREAT! The only issue is the Wi Fi connection. I find that it sometimes takes two to three tries before the connection stays connected to my iPhone.

Only cam with 4K for rear view right now, there are things you should know! UPDATE: HELPED ME OUT!

Firstly I will say that the image quality is the best for a dashcam I have owned, both front and rear which is why I bought, and am keeping it even though I knew it had shortcomings. Install was fine I have done this a few times now with other cams. As others have said BE AWARE when installing the cable next to an airbag. The last think you need is your life saving device thwarted by a dash cam wire!*What you need to know?*As other have said you can not use the SD card slot to record on which baffles me to no end. The 128GB build in card is fine if you travel under 1/2 an hour each way to work or running errands. That means you will have ~5 days worth of recordings to review if you find out about something you want to review days later, which is something I have had to do on past cams. Doing the math after an hours worth of recordings I would say you get 4.9 hours of recordings on this system with the build in memory card. Long drives or trips it will overwrite the earlier part of the day. I have driven as many as 18 hours on a vacation as have many people so you not have the whole trip.If you want good stills off the video you really need to get Red Tiger player and you need to set the settings to HD which really helps video quality for grabbing screenshots. The rear cam cord will likely be too short for a minivan or similar length vehicle when routed around the sides of the headliner. In my explorer routing along the edges and through the rubber boot into the liftgate I had maybe 6 inches extra.*What I didn't like?*It is absolutely inexcusable for a top of the line high priced dash cam to want an additional $30 for the hardwire kit for parking protection. Parking protection is right in this products description, but nope, you can't do that out of the box ?!?!?!Transfer speeds over wifi or transferring to the SD card slot when one is installed is TERRIBLE. If you want multiple videos both front and rear expect a 15-30 minute wait. The fastest way to get recordings from it is to plug the camera directly into a computer. That means you need to install it where you can take it on and off easily if you need access to those videos or sit with a laptop in the car.Why oh why didn't they let us record to the SD Card? I would wager it has to do with avoiding complaints about cards not working but IMO they just traded complaints to why cant I use the expansion slot?!I'm sure due to the insufficient built in SD card they advise you in the owners manual to format the card monthly (I'm sure so it doesn't fill up with locked recordings). There is even a reminder setting in the cam to remind you to do that. That wouldn't be as necessary when giving the ability to use the SD card.*Starvis 2 ? Really? I doubt if I opened it up I would find that chip inside*I would say the night vision is no better than my last $99 front and rear HD cam purchased in 2018. I expected better from the rear cam through the rear tint with this *new* imaging chip that is supposed to be the best consumer night vision but nope, no different. The front is the same as well. The videos are not brighter than my past cam. Sony Starvis claims the lens is closer to the chip affording a wider angle to receive light but the lenses on these are the same distance from the sensor as my previous cams.*Why did I keep it?*Firstly I was in a bind, my prior cam failed after 6 years so when I found this. Why did I give this 4 stars if there is so much I don't like? Its the ONLY cam right now with 4K to the rear. Getting a clear picture of who hit me is very important to me because I live in a college town with some terrible drivers. I hope the next time I am in the market I have a better choice.UPDATE: 9/2025Got rear ended by an uninsured motorist going nearly 40MPH while I was stopped. The rear footage from this camera allowed my insurance to deny any liability from the car I was pushed into transferring it to the person who hit me. Unfortunately we all still have to file on our own policies because the person had no insurance. Caught them on the phone when I did a frame by frame. See photo!

Insufficient instruction wire kit.

Paid high amount for this set of cameras. Should be included the set of wires to connect it permanently to car battery to me able to record while being parked. Also the camera does not com with enough internal memory to record a full day. Hard to transfer recordings to backup memory card.

Excellent Dash Cam with Accurate Voice Control

The Redtiger F77 dash cam works great and delivers clear, reliable performance. Setup was straightforward, and the video quality is impressive. The voice control is spot on and responds quickly, which makes it easy to use without taking your hands off the wheel.Overall, this is a solid, high-quality dash cam that does exactly what it’s supposed to do. I’m very happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend it.

Good, but not well thought out. Buttons that require an elephant's memory. Trust issues.

Even after the firmware update, the V1 is a bit buggy. The image quality is good. Looping can be suspect. Beeps and pops up messages arbitrarily while driving, but can't check them before they disappear, so I'm never confident this thing is actually recording. No Cellular or cloud backup, but does have Wi-Fi and USB downloading. I haven't used the app since I'm a bit paranoid about loading Chinese software on my Android phone. Even the firmware updates are in Chinese. There's a bit of a learning curve in that the buttons aren't labeled, so you'll need to remember what each does or keep referring back to the manual. Doesn't come with removable memory stick, so you'll want to buy one, preferably a true SANDisk, for it. Records to internal memory, so you need to press a button to copy an incident to the removable card. Could've been a home run, but many shortcomings in design and functionality. I'll use it for a while and research what to replace it with. I can't recommend for or against this unit in that it's adequate and gets the job done, I think, but it's not really intuitive to use. I mute the microphone, so I don't use voice commands. If you want parked coverage, you'll need the hard wire kit. It's be nice if it connected to the ODB port for power and vehicle telemetry. Just so many shortcomings. I'd not likely buy another unless they step up their game and independently certify that the Android software isn't spyware.

Best cameras best customer service ever!!

So I have purchased the red tiger F7 V2 and a competitors because I was torn between the two and I wanted to see them in person the box believe it or not etc. and the competitor actually had better packaging and more reviews, but not quite as good reviews as red tiger Then I found out the competitor who offers supposedly 4K 2160x2160 which is not true. 4K only the red tiger F7 two channel has true 4K 3840×2160 for both cameras when used at the same time! Plus, I tried to get vantrue customer service on the phone and it didn’t even work. They wouldn’t even provide customer service phone number. I had to email them and then they didn’t know what they were talking about. I called red Tiger got somebody in 30 seconds two different times and they know everything about dash cams and their competition they even sent me a free cable that I needed to use instead of the hardwired cigarette plug lighter. And it’s a touchscreen for the same price as this other dash cam that is a joke. If you don’t believe me, call customer service from both companies and see which one is better if you can get a hold of the other one, and then the deciding factor would be they both use the same Sony camera and sensors, but the vantrue won’t record in true 4K with both cameras and the red tiger F7 V2 does. Who needs three and four channel dash cams? I don’t understand it. Why do you want to stare at yourself on video? You need two channels one out the front went out the back and those three channels only record in 1080i on the third channel. and 4K out the front and 2K out the back again this is the only camera that will record in true 4K 3840×2160 no other dash cam manufactured does it that I could find and I researched dozens and dozens and this one is newer, so it’s not in those top 10 best dash cam reviews or whatever anywhere so I schooled all those people making those videos and said hey what about this one and they responded back saying wow good find I had no idea this was available anyway red Tiger F7 version V2 two channel that’s the one you want

Good product.

REDTIGER F77 V2 Dual 4K Dash Cam Review📸 Video Quality & Performance- Dual 4K recording with Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 sensors delivers crisp, detailed footage from both front and rear cameras—even in low light.- HDR Night Vision enhances clarity in dark conditions, reducing glare and improving visibility of license plates and road signs.- 170° wide-angle lenses offer broad coverage, minimizing blind spots.- Footage is smooth and stable, even on bumpy roads, thanks to solid image processing.🧠 Features & Usability- Voice control allows hands-free operation for key functions.- 4" touchscreen is responsive and intuitive, making it easy to navigate settings and playback.- Built-in 5.8GHz WiFi enables fast file transfers to your phone via the Redtiger app.- GPS tracking logs location and speed data, useful for insurance claims or trip documentation.- 256GB eMMC internal storage means no need for a microSD card, though footage can be backed up to one.🧰 Installation & Design- The camera mounts via adhesive pads, which are easy to apply and reposition.- However, there is no mechanical method to tighten or lock the camera into position once mounted. This means:- Adjustments rely solely on adhesive strength and friction.- Over time, vibrations or heat may cause the camera to shift slightly.- Users may need to reapply or reinforce the mount to maintain optimal angle. This lack of a tightening mechanism is a notable oversight, especially for a premium dash cam at this price point. A simple locking hinge or screw adjustment would greatly improve stability and long-term reliability.⚡ Final ThoughtsThe REDTIGER F77 V2 is a feature-rich, high-performance dash cam that excels in video quality and ease of use. Its dual 4K setup, voice control, and fast WiFi make it a standout choice for drivers who want comprehensive coverage. But the absence of a secure tightening mechanism for the mount is a design flaw that could affect long-term satisfaction.

Great picture, with some minor niggling issues

Great quality picture, easy to install. However, the front dash cam constantly poubts up to the sky. I have repeadely tightened the hinge screw, but when the car gets hot inside from the sun, it seems to come loose again. Also, there's no lateral swivel funtion to allow for left or right rotational adjustment to center the camera view. They recommend installing to the right of the center window console, however, due to many other items like Ezi-Pass and insurance trackers already mounted there, I decided to mount mine on the left side. This provides a slight left off center view of the road ahead. This is my only gripe about the camera. I purchased the addition OBD II hard wire kit to enable parking monitoring, but still struggling to get that set up, and the camera appears to stay turned on which makes it very hot. I will reach out to customer service to discuss these issues.

An Awesome Camera ... With One Small Design Flaw

This is a fantastic dash cam set. I bought the 256GB camera with the power mount for park mode. I do like this camera A LOT! However, it has one small design flaw ... The plastic mount for the front windshield ONLY allows the camera to rotate UP and DOWN on a horizontal hinge pin. There is NO side-to-side rotation of the camera's view once it is stuck to the glass. So I mounted it above my view as the driver, since I am LEFT-HANDED. It is easily accessible, and the color screen is razor sharp and bright! HOWEVER, I cannot change the HORIZONTAL angle of view with the existing mount. On a CURVED windshield, this means that unless the camera is mounted DEAD CENTER on the windshield, the fish-eye view will take in more on the LEFT and less on the RIGHT. Fortunately, I have a nice 3D PRINTER, so I am going to design a CUSTOM mount that provides the correct mount angle based on the position of the camera on the CURVED glass windshield. There needs to be some way to not only tip the camera UP and DOWN, but also to ROTATE the camera from LEFT TO RIGHT. Other than that, I am nothing but HAPPY with this dash cam!

great hardware held back by software

this review was written on May 22nd, 2025. be sure to check more recent reviews to see if the issues mentioned below have been resolved.after about a week with the Redtiger F77 V2, i can say with confidence that, for the time being, this is not the dash cam you want. the 4k front and rear is cool, but it covers up a not good and in some cases bad firmware. this review may sound harsh, but expectations are high for such a high price tag.my biggest issue is how it records. normal dash cams will record in a loop, and if told to, will save X minutes of that loop. the F77, instead, records in blocks of video either 1, 3, or 5 minutes. if you tell it to save a video, it will only save that current block and nothing else. it will even wait to save the video until the current block has completed.audio quality is as expected for a dash cam, nothing to write home about, but better than an Xbox 360 party voice chat. the screen is also really nice and responsive. wifi is also easy to use and fairly reliable. if you currently have a dash cam hard-wired with a USB-C power connector, the camera will likely work fine. i changed from a Viofo A229 Pro and was able to reuse the cable for power and the rear camera with no issue, so no need to fish out the wires and re-run new ones.G-trigger parking mode is also useless, as it turns off the camera until a force within the trigger is detected, then it turns on and starts recording. this whole series takes 5 to 10 seconds, long enough for the person to hit and run and you have no evidence at all.the rear camera mount is also incapable of correctly aiming for a steep rear window, like most performance coupes have, so you have to file down the stops on the mount to make it work. also dont forget to tighten the 2mm hex bolt that stops the camera from rotating every now and then, or else it might need some of those little blue pills they become so floppy. this assumes that the double-sided tape actually holds, because mine certainly didnt and i had to JB Weld the front camera mount to my car's front camera shroud.i also hope you like seeing your dash, because you will be seeing it in reflections all the time. no CPL filter is being currently made for the F77 at all. there is also no compatibility with external storage. you record to built-in storage only, but can transfer footage to an external microsd card up to 512GB in size.honestly, unless front and rear 4k 30fps is at the very top of your priorities and nothing else matters, dont get the Redtiger F77 V2. and even then, i have heard about some issues with the video compression, but i did not check that for myself. had i known the issues i would have with it, i would not have spent $330 on it. i e-mailed them about my experience and suggestions, but my response felt like it was AI-generated and equivalent to an inbox that leads to the trash. if Redtiger fixes the firmware issues, i will definitely consider using it again, but for now, i am only keeping it installed until i find another dash cam and can get a replacement front camera shroud. its better than nothing, but not by much. quite a shame given the very capable hardware.Edit: Redtiger contacted me about this review, and after talking a bit, it sounds like they are currently working on improving the firmware as well as the hardware shortcomings. one thing they specifically mentioned was a redesign of the camera mounting hardware to reduce or fix the "losing torque" issue. this is good, and shows that they really do care about making a quality product. they also offered a full refund. i went ahead and raised the rating from 2 stars to 3 stars because this kind of communication is fantastic. however, in it's current state, I cannot give it a higher rating. after all, this is a review of the camera, not Redtiger as a company

Highly recommended!!!!!

Works great. High-quality videos on both front and back cameras. I sprung for the kit that hardwired it into my truck. The rear camera cable was more than long enough to reach the center of the back window. The mount hinge does come loose after a while. I keep an Allen wrench in my glove box to tighten it when this happens. It's super easy. I also had to buy my own 3M adhesive strip and wait till the sun was out to mount it. The window has to be warm for 12 hours for the adhesive to cure. So mount it early in the day, park in direct sunlight, and leave the camera off of the mount for a day while it cures. I wouldn't even try mounting it when it’s cold outside. Wait for a warmer day.I’m adding this edit after an incident that happened to me. I was stuck behind a cement truck, and every time the truck hit a bump in the road, a little cement came out of the shoot, and it sounded like sand hitting my truck. Then, a fairly large rock came out of the barrel and struck my windshield right above the dash cam. This Redtiger dash cam footage was so good, you could see the rock coming out of the truck, fly through the air, and hit my window. My insurance company used the footage to get the cement company to pay for my window. Normally rocks are considered an act of god, and you pay your deductable then move on. Because of the clarity from this video, Their insurance covered it. I shared the video here, but I'm not sure about the quality on here.

High Quality Camera System

This is the system to purchase, it's worth every penny. I've been using camera systems in my vehicles for 6 years, I have purchased several makes and models from multiple brands. This is my 1st purchase from Redtiger, this camera system is by far the best I have ever purchased. The system is just as advertised, high quality cameras with amazing picture quality, very easy to install. The camera easy connected to my home Wifi and the app was easy to setup and controls the camera very well, its very easy to pull up videos and watch them through the app. (Not sure why the app ratings are so low) - No problem for me!After the purchase was processed I received and email from Redtiger support telling me about the hardwire kit available for this model. I was asked to provide my mailing address and a hardwire kit would be sent to me free of charge and one was. It's a very rare occasion from me to give 5 star reviews, based on my experience with this purchase I would say that 5 stars is not enough. I will definetly be a return customer for camera purchases.

Good video, too much time to access footage

Installed this on a GMC Sierra Quad Cab, plenty of room for everything to reach everywhere hiding the wires appropriately. Used the OBDII constant-power kit. Works well for all of that (haven't figured the parking mode out yet, so it just shuts off when the truck does for now, but I think that's on me). The video is clear. The RedTiger app on PC looks nice, but then you start using it. It has options to open a file or a folder, but the folder option still only opens a single file. It has a playlist feature built in to navigate multiple files, but you have to open each individually (no shift or ctrl click functionality, single select only). Then, once you have multiple files opened, it doesn't navigate between then at all. Very clunky and unintuitive. The phone app works great. Little slow (Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra), but very doable. The problem I have is accessing videos. I don't want to view 4k video on my phone. You can't, actually (if you know, you know). This camera has the built-in memory and an SD card slot only for downloading files. THIS. TAKES. FOREVER. The camera had already mostly filled a 512GB card from my first drive with the camera (2.5 hr drive). Didn't expect that. You can download video straight to your phone (takes a lot of space) or you can copy files from the built-in memory to the card to take the card inside to a screen that can actually the 4k resolution (RedTiger PC app or just viewing the MP4s directly (far more intuitive than the app but no map feature)). The problem is that it's the same speed to download or copy the files, which is incredibly slow. Like, over an hour to download or copy that 2.5 hr drive. Over an hour!I don't just use a dash cam for accidents. I like to look at scenery or weird things or close calls or complete morons in action, etc. The time commitment this camera requires to view 4k footage is insane. Very unhappy with this model. For reference. I bought this one for my truck (the primary traveler), the F7NP for my wife's commuter, and the F17 for my mother's car. The other two wired in the same (2014 Accord and 2008 Impala, respectively) and deliver great video. They also do not have built-in memory. The F7 and F17 are FAR easier to access footage. They still suffer the same problems with the RedTiger PC app, but I can at least get the videos to my PC easily, quickly, and efficiently. Parking modes are a bit iffy on those with the OBDII kit, but they work for a little while (usually cut off within 20 minutes on known-good charging systems).

Great, easy to install quality product

I ordered this after a Prius seemingly had a death wish one evening. The camera arrived on time, and had pretty easy to follow instructions for installation and setup. The camera appears well made, and robust. Viewing the videos it has collected show clear video, complete with date and time stamps. As well as GPS and speed info. For anyone concerned with these features, you will be happy to know that they can be turned off as well.Overall, I am happy with the purchase. I also ordered the wiring harness for installation to the fuse panel under the hood of my truck. I feel I got a decent value for the price I paid. It functions well and has plenty of features to fit into the driving style of anyone on the road.
